From the beginning, TrackDesign has been synonymous with cutting-edge design furniture. It was therefore a natural process of evolution that led our Apulian company to invest in innovation by developing different processes in order to offer its’ customers a wider range of expressive possibilities.

To innovative, we therefore introduced new materials and finishes developed by TrackDesign. Today, among all, we present the characteristics of the first novelty: brass furniture design.

Brass, timeless elegance

Brass is a metal alloy that has always been remarkably successful thanks to its aesthetic properties and more. Quality, refinement, technology and solidity are in fact enclosed in brass furnishings, making it able to give each room a luxurious but never brazen appearance.

When we talk about brass, we speak of the golden-yellow metal alloy with a cold shade composed of copper and zinc. The latter's percentage determines the characteristics that can be classified into:

• Brasses of the first title contain a zinc content of less than 37% and have the peculiarity of being malleable even when cold

• Brasses of the second title instead have a zinc content between 37% and 50% and are not cold-malleable

Brass instruments are widely used, for example in manufacturing musical instruments, coins, art objects and design furniture. They have favorable mechanical and technical properties; including high electrical conductivity and resistance to atmospheric corrosion and saltiness, which makes them widely used in the naval sector.

Another peculiar aspect of this alloy is its antibacterial property; copper and copper alloys naturally eliminate microorganisms that cover frequently used surfaces in a short period of time. This feature makes it suitable for surfaces that are frequently touched, such as handles, faucets, tables, etc.

One of the TrackDesign novelties is the Jackie table, designed by the architect Vincenzo Minenna. In this brass furnishing element, the material contribution of this metal in combination with the geometric and minimal lines, create a luminous and chic effect that enhances any room.

In the common imagination, brass is a shiny material, yellow in color with cold tones that makes the environment flat and is usually associated with vintage 30’s light fixtures. In reality, the brass furnishing compliments a striking metal that lends itself to multiple applications, breaking the mold and removing any skepticism.
