This steel requires minimal maintenance and cleaning, because its tendency to wear and tear is relatively low. It is also true, however, that not all of its finishes are suitable for any environment and, in any case, it is necessary to adopt a few simple precautions so as not to compromise its appearance.

Natural Corten for outdoor

Corten in its "natural" state lacks any finish or protection, leaving the possibility for the metal to evolve and therefore express itself in all its natural chromatic and material beauty.

Given its predisposition to withstand atmospheric agents, it is an excellent metal when applied in architecture and artistic installations, but not only: it is commonly used also for borders and planters. It is also advisable to choose the appropriate place for corten steel elements. It naturally produces a dusting that is deposited on the material that surrounds it, so it is advisable to place them away from floors (marble and porous woods) that can absorb the pigments of the corten steel.

Waxed corten for indoor

Very recently, the use of this steel for the production of indoor furniture has become extremely popular. TrackDesign uses a finish suitable for indoor use for its corten design furniture. It is a thin coating that has a double function: it allows you to maintain the colour of the corten that you want by canceling the generation of dusting and making the same material surprisingly smooth and pleasant to the touch.

To leave the beauty of your waxed corten furniture unaltered, simply clean them with a soft cloth dampened with just water or by adding neutral soap. In order not to alter this coating it is also advisable to avoid contact with excessively aggressive agents that would ruin the surface coating.
