Whether it's a big or a small space, how nice is it to furnish a garden? Outdoor is a fundamental part of our homes, often forgotten because it is a favorite for indoor and outdoor living. But in light of the wonderful days ahead of us, it would not hurt to focus a little attention on this beautiful part of our homes. |

Spring is at the door and the scent of flowers, the pleasant warmth of the sun with it. The untiring desire to refurnish the garden in a modern style and why not, with furniture made in Italy, start, accordingly, to bear in our minds. Usually we start from the choice of flowers, especially when you already have a custom gazebo, a steel structure for outdoor or any other production of design furniture for outdoors.
Flowers, what colors? And above all, what planters? We suggest a collection of flowers that lend itself, for seasonality and color, to the metropolitan and modern style of a corten planter, which will give your beloved external environment, a touch of originality and elegance, given the characteristics of the material.
Well, let's go back to the flowers: which are the most suitable for decorating a garden? We would start with suggestions on the flowers that resist heat and drought (we would not want to be a little lazy with the use of the watering can!). Who wants to furnish a garden with plants and flowers that do not have problems of heat and drought, first of all, must choose the plants that resist better to the heat, that have limited water needs and can be resistant to cold winters. Though, mother nature offers us a wide choice to help you adorn your space! Let's find out which plants are the best suited for decorating a garden, perhaps with your new Corten planter!
If the climate overheats, our habits must change too. We need to think of a garden with more resistant plants, with an automatic irrigation system and a suitable substrate. BROOMS Amongst brooms the one that is most resistant to hot and dry summers is certainly the wild one. Vigorous, resistant and with many fragrant flowers. The broom is a typical plant native to southern Europe, where temperatures are typically dry. So, in addition to Turkey, Greece, North Africa is easily found even in our country. Cistus Strongly heliophilous plant that prefers warm and sunny exposures. It forms small spots and for most of the year the plant hides among the grass and other shrubby plants until it does not flourish, grows and is evident from view. During these phases it takes on bright colours and finally becomes a protagonist. The cistus is typically part of the Mediterranean scrub and prefers the coasts to grow spontaneously. POLYGON Polygonum scoparium is a very rare and funny-looking shrub: it has stems without leaves, light and refined; dark green stems with white flowers for the period from July to October. They are species that need very moderate amounts of water in conjunction with very long periods of drought, but generally they also resist very well even in areas where the irradiation is very intense. CENTRANTHUS It is capable of an impressive flowering and, if the plant is well cared, it can also last well beyond the summer period. All this in the face of practically non-existent treatments, apart from a little amount of water near the new season. Its ability to disseminate is so high that the plant is considered by many to be infesting. However, it is very easy to cure this plant, as well as eliminating branches born out of pre-established spaces. Centranthus are plants that resist cold and drought as if nothing had happened, grow very quickly and do not forget it, they are also beautiful to stare at. KALIMERIS The kalimeris are very close to the medium-flowered September, but more resistant to the absence of water and with an excellent dissemination ability. Kalimeris is a daisy with light and sweet flower heads, because of its very thin flowers. Light colored, from white to blue, it grows well even in dim light and blooms from August to October. ERODIUM Erodium pelargoniflorum is a widespread plant that on paper should have limited resistance to cold, but in practice is capable of overcoming rigid winters and, as a survival reaction of the species, has developed against frost a good spreading capacity. The flower is identical to the Pelargoni’s one and, unless you are an expert, you would easily be deceived if you stood the flower from its stem. LEPECHINA SALVIFOLIA Lepechina salvifolia belongs to the same mint family. Native to Latin America, this plant is easily mistaken for sage, especially for its leaf structure. They are plants that resist dry soils and dry climates, to be placed in full sun, withstands the cold of winter as long as there is not stagnant water. Flowering makes it precious to give color to the end of the summer season. This is a characteristic sign of September, which is made more colorful thanks to this living being, from the late flowering. |
