NUR | Corten lamp

Nur is the lamp likened to a "memory box". The luminous object is the synthesis of the collection of views its author gathered through photography during his visits to the oldest districts of Cairo and Baghdad. Thus the typical decorations of the "mashrabiya" — the architectural element of Middle-Eastern homes used as a screen to filter prying eyes from outside — are the source of inspiration for designer Dino Lorusso who, with Nur, combines photography, architecture and design. The Corten steel shade features six carved surfaces, each with its own decoration created using water-jet technology. The lamp's structure is in painted steel, allowing the user to personalise the product by creating colour contrasts that recall the intensity of the places that inspired it.
