Whether it's the simple and romantic aesthetics of Corten steel or the industrial chic of double oxidation brass, the panel solutions for the garden, as in the case of Brise Vue separators, always represent important uniqueness choices

Corten Steel Windshield

We have expressed in more than 2 years on the multiple properties of the famous Corten steel, a metal that comes from the iron-carbon alloy with other special metals such as copper, manganese and vanadium, resistant to corrosion, as well as having an orange color , with iridescent shades.

Perfect for outdoor application and in combination with natural shades due to its brown, almost reddish color, reminiscent of volcanic earth, Corten represents our soul, which we would never change.

But Corten steel is not the only metal we work on at TrackDesign, where we are aware of the beauty of the infinite existing materials and of the splendid processes and applications to which they all lend themselves.

Among these, there are many metals that have mechanical characteristics of strength, durability and ductility, as well as resistance to corrosion and time.

One of these is Brass, a metal, we believe, far better known than Corten, because it has already been widely used in the world of design and architecture, but which unlike Corten has been subject to cyclical fashions, which continue for hundreds of years.

Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc, in which copper is a metal with great ductility and lightness, from the times of ancient civilizations used to make kitchen objects, very simple to work since ancient times, due to its melting point just above 1000 degrees. To this is added the zinc, which gives anticorrosive properties, present in the alloy with a quantity from 15% up.

Exactly as it happens with Corten, brass will undergo a color change effect, a patina that will give oxidation for a prolonged period of time, the duration of which will vary depending on the exposure to atmospheric environments and how aggressive they are (smog and saline environments pose a major danger to all metals).

Even immersed in water, brass would undergo serious stress, causing the metal to weaken and jeopardizing its structural integrity.

However, excluding situations listed, brass is an excellent metal for outdoor applications thanks to its extraordinary resistance. Indeed, its transition to blue-green over long periods is never considered a sign of decadence, but a plus, a characteristic of a lived-in material for architects and designers.

If the aged appearance of burnished oxidized brass is desired immediately, the process can be accelerated by applying oxidizing products with the right solutions in water, paying attention to its cleaning, polishing and drying.

It is thanks to these characteristics that products such as double oxidation panels in both Corten steel and Brass are born.

By applying masking processes on metal surfaces, with the most varied patterns and subsequently applicable to any environment, from indoors to outdoors, as in the case of garden separators.

Corten Steel Windshield A different and certainly impactful way to delimit your lawn and differentiate it from any other perimeter architectural solution, with the right expense compared to the duration of the investment, practically eternal and not replicable with other stone materials or perhaps in wood.

The iridescent color of the patina, given by the passage of time on the metal surfaces are, in fact, unique characteristics of what we are going to offer with corten and double oxidation brass garden separators.
