Nato a Bari il 28 Maggio 1988 Michele De Matthaeis è un Artista e Designer Italiano. Nel 2010 si laurea presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Bari in Grafica D'Arte con il Progetto di tesi: HOUSING ART l’arte per la residenza. Rivalutazione artistica di un complesso abitativo. Durante il percorso accademico partecipa a diverse mostre collettive presso diverse gallerie d'arte, enti pubblici e privati. Dal 2009 inizia le sue ricerche sul mondo microscopico, tema di grande ispirazione ancora attuale. Nel 2010 si trasferisce a Milano dove studia Product Design presso lo IED. Durante gli studi si concentra sulla ricerca di varie forme di espressione e tecniche artistiche innovative. Finiti gli studi nel 2013 inizia a collaborare in diversi studi di architettura e aziende di design portando avanti la produzione di opere d'arte tra scultura, stampe d'arte e dipinti. Installazioni, interventi ambientali, performance, sculture, fotografie e qualsiasi altro tipo di espressione può cambiare il modo di vedere le cose; si può mescolare il modo tradizionale, "normale" di vedere il mondo, con una rappresentazione più astratta, asettica e precisa. Forme che galleggiano nello spazio evocano sensazioni fuori dal tempo, ma chiare e ben definite in un dato luogo. Forme di un altro tipo, di un altro mondo, che mirano ad ampliare la percezione tipica e quotidiana, ad aprire nuovi confini; i confini della libera interpretazione di quelle forme. Promuovere l'immaginazione, l'immaginazione di qualcosa che non esiste, o che esiste, ma ancora non si conosce. L'immaginazione e l'interpretazione delle forme sono la vera differenza tra voi e gli altri. Questa è l'interpretazione macrocosmica, questa è immaginazione astratta di forme tangibili. Siamo tutti uniti però da un mondo microcosmico, che nonostante ci circondi, e quasi, ci appartenga, non ne conosciamo le forme, la sostanza, la poesia, le geometrie. Niente è più perfetto di quello che ci circonda, di quello che siamo e di quello che è. "L'essenziale è invisibile agli occhi".

Born in Bari on 28th May 1988, Michele De Matthaeis is an Italian Artist and Designer. In 2010 he graduated from Academy of Fine Arts of Bari in Graphic Arts with the thesis project: HOUSING ART. Artistic revaluation of a residential complex. During the academic background, he participated in various collective exhibitions at different art galleries, public and private bodies. In 2009 he started his researches into the microscopic world, theme which is still of great inspiration today. In 2010 he moved to Milan where he studied Product Design at IED. During his studies, he focused on the research into various expression forms and innovative art techniques. After completing his studies in 2013, he started to collaborate with various architecture studios and design concerns by continuing the production of works of art such as sculptures, art prints and paintings. Installations, environment interventions, performances, sculptures, photographs and any other type of expression can change the way of seeing things; you can mix the traditional "normal" way of seeing the world, with a more abstract, aseptic and precise representation. Shapes floating in the air evoking sensations out of time, but clear and well defined at a given place. Forms of another type, another world, aiming to expand the typical and everyday perception, to open new boundaries; the boundaries of the free interpretation of those shapes. Promoting imagination, imagination of something that does not exist, or that exists, but that is still unknown. Imagination and interpretation of shapes are the true difference between you and the others. This is the macrocosmic interpretation; this is the abstract imagination of tangible shapes. But we are all united by a microcosmic world: even if it surrounds us, and almost belongs to us, we do not know its shapes, its substance, its poetry and its geometries. Michele De Matthaeis, geboren am 28. Mai 1988 in Bari, ist ein italienischer Künstler und Designer. Im Jahr 2010 schloss er sein Studium an der Academy of Fine Arts of Bari in Graphic Arts mit dem Diplomarbeitsprojekt zum Thema „WOHNKUNST. Künstlerische Aufwertung einer Wohnanlage“ ab. Während seiner akademischen Ausbildung nahm er an verschiedenen Sammelausstellungen in verschiedenen Kunstgalerien, öffentlichen und privaten Einrichtungen teil. Im Jahr 2009 begann er mit seinen Forschungen zur mikroskopischen Welt, einem Thema, das auch heute noch von großer Bedeutung ist.
