Materials and finishes
Every TrackDesign project starts from selected materials and hand-crafted finishes in our workshop in Puglia. From Corten steel that evolves over time to burnished brass and copper, every surface is designed to last and to age with character.
01 — Corten steel
Corten steel naturally develops a protective patina that halts corrosion and gives it its characteristic brown-orange colour. We offer it natural, burnished or waxed to stabilise its tone.

How the patina forms
On contact with air and rain, Corten begins a controlled oxidation: the alloying elements (copper, chromium, phosphorus) mean the rust doesn't flake off like ordinary steel, but compacts into a dense, adherent patina that slows the corrosion underneath almost to a halt. The more the surface ages, the more it protects itself — alternating cycles of rain and drying speed up the process.
02 — Brass
Brass brings warmth and precious reflections. Available polished, brushed or burnished, with exclusive shades that enhance details and furnishing surfaces.

03 — Copper
Copper is a living material: it changes colour over time and reacts to light. We work it iridescent, flamed, brushed or burnished for unique, one-of-a-kind textures.

04 — Steel & special finishes
The range is completed by brushed steel — essential and contemporary — and polished steel with its bright, luminous shine. On request we produce non-standard RAL coatings, smooth matte or gloss finishes and anti-graffiti treatments.
